THE FARM
We (Zoe & John ) welcome you to our family farm and little hideaway. As a family of four we love to come and relax next to the lakeside and decided to share it.
We are a small family run dairy farm and enjoy the great outdoors. The farm has been in the family for several generations. Our fondest memories are having our Grandfather’s rowing boat on the lake and enjoying a family picnic.
Our pedigree Holstein herd of cows are also our family, so we decided to name the yurts after our favourite cows, Tulip, Clover & Ivy. The herd is also called Lanetree which inspired us to call the glamping site "Lane Tree Hideaways".
We like to be involved in the community by providing fields for bonfire events, attending Marchington Woodlands village hall coffee mornings and summer fetes. The welcome pack contains various local businesses coming together as a community.
We were both heavily involved in Staffordshire Young Farmers association being chairman and secretary for Uttoxeter Young Farmers and then going onto being county officers for Staffordshire. We can’t quite let go of young farmers so we try to help out where we can, hosting dairy stock judging nights.
We have tried our best to be sustainable, by using locally sourced materials and equipment keeping our carbon footprint as low as possible in the construction of our site. We have tried to up-cycle as much as we can, by using old scaffolding boards to create the kitchen area, the sink in the bathroom area has been made from a fallen tree down on the farm. The kitchen was saved from the skip and has been refurbished for use in the bathroom and kitchen.
We look forward to welcoming you to our little hideaway and hope you enjoy it as much as we do, creating your own special memories.
Kind regards,
Zoe & John
